Parks and Recreation
Spruce Grove offers a wide range of parks, trails, and recreational facilities, providing residents with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, sports, and family-friendly fun.
Heritage Park Trails
Spruce Grove has a vastly large black path trail system covering 40 plus kms connecting the communities. The asphalt trails are cleared all winter and safe to be on all year round. Spruce Grove also has its own natural oasis called Heritage Grove Park. This is a large natural forest area that has been preserved and protected from development. The walking trails go right through this forest; they connect neighborhoods, but most importantly offer a nice break from the city streets. This area is walked, ran and biked buy locals daily. Truly a big factor in why residents love Spruce Grove.
These trails are considered on leash areas for dogs, however see below for designated off leash areas in Spruce Grove.
Central Park
Central Park is located on King Street close to the hockey arenas and Broxton park school. This park includes a water feature in the summer for the kids, walking trails, public fire pit area, picnic areas, skate park and across the street a nice little coffee shop called Perks, a locally owned and operated business.
In the winter Central Park is decorated thoroughly with Christmas lights and they ice over the oval walking path. Go for a skate and be sure to be there for the light up ceremony in November of every year.
